Victim Support Europe
Founded in 1990, Victim Support Europe (VSE) is a network representing over 80 member organisations from nations in Europe and globally that support more than three million people affected by crime each year in 36 countries.
VSE’s vision is “a Europe where the needs of all victims of crime are fully met through effective rights and high-quality services”.
Through collaboration, VSE has helped create free, victim-centred, confidential, and accessible services for all victims of crime across Europe.
Key collaborators include global and regional organisations such as the European Union, United Nations, World Bank, and the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights. It also engages in advocacy with European Union institutions such as the EU Parliament, EU Commission, and the Council of the European Union.
Victim Support and VSE
Victim Support is a founding and full member of Victim Support Europe. Our Director of Business Services, who is also our Deputy Chief Executive, represents Victim Support England and Wales on VSE’s board.
We’re proud to be an active part of VSE’s strategic planning and governance, helping shape the network’s direction and priorities through the work we do together. By sharing our insights and experience, we’re helping victim services across Europe grow, innovate, and deliver even better professional support.
We’re also strengthening our connections with other Victim Support organisations, in Europe and beyond, to expand our own knowledge and expertise, giving us a broader understanding of innovation in victims’ services.
When it comes to providing support, we have referral arrangements through VSE to help connect victims with international support organisations when they need it the most.
We share VSE’s passion for championing victims’ rights. We use our expertise to ensure victims’ voices are heard at EU level and we contribute to policy consultations and legislative advocacy through our work with VSE.
Victim Support is proud to comply with VSE’s service standards. By adhering to these standards, we demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement and the delivery of high-quality, consistent services to victims of crime.
