Governance and structure

Audit Committee

Our Audit Committee looks after internal and external audits, risk and quality assurance responsibilities, and the duties of the Board of Trustees. Among other things, the Committee is responsible for Victim Support's corporate risk register and quality assurance processes. The Audit Committee consists of at least three Trustees and up to two independent members and is chaired by a Trustee. Current members are:

  • Elizabeth Dymond (Chair)
  • Maria Thomas
  • Tom Davies
  • Victoria Harrity (independent member)
  • Richard Fass (independent member)

Finance Committee

Victim Support's Finance Committee makes sure that the financial responsibilities and duties of the Board of Trustees are managed effectively. The Committee also monitors our day-to-day financial management and reporting. To find out more about the Finance Committee, read the full terms of reference.

The Finance Committee consists of up to five members including at least three Trustees. The Finance Committee is chaired by Victim Support’s Treasurer. Current members are:

  • Andrew Tivey (Chair) 
  • Catherine Dugmore
  • Les Mosco

Governance and Nominations Committee

Our Governance and Nominations Committee makes sure that the corporate governance responsibilities and duties of the Board of Trustees are managed effectively. The Committee also leads the process for appointments and elections to the Board of Trustees and independent committee members. The Committee consists of five members including at least three Trustees. Current members are:

  • Catherine Dugmore (Chair)
  • Geoff Pollard 
  • Jo Cumbley
  • Francis Wakem 

Remuneration Committee

Victim Support's Remuneration Committee makes sure that the employment and remuneration responsibilities and duties of the Board of Trustees are managed effectively in relation to senior staff. For more information about the Remuneration Committee, read the full terms of reference.

The Chair of the Trustees chairs the Committee. Membership includes up to four Trustees and the Director of Human Resources attends to provide advice and support. Current members are:

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee reports to the Board on all matters regarding its responsibilities to equality, diversity and inclusion. It ensures that this agenda is integral to the strategic direction of Victim Support. For more information about the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, read the full terms of reference.

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee normally consists of at least five members, including at least two Trustees. In addition, the committee will often co-opt additional external members onto the committee.
