Why support us?

The independent charity for anyone affected by crime

Last year we offered support to 814,000 people affected by crime. We believe that all victims of crime should get the support they need to recover, and that’s why we’re the only charity in England and Wales that helps anyone affected by crime, whether or not the crime is reported and regardless of when it happened.

We give people the vital support they need to recover from the devastating impact of crime and rebuild their lives.

We are proud to be the voice of victims

We listen to people affected by crime and give them a voice both locally and nationally, to ensure that they get the support they need and the respect they deserve.

Specialist expertise

We deliver specialist services to help people who have been left vulnerable by crime, such as our Homicide Service, which provides intensive support for people bereaved by murder or manslaughter. We’ve also developed industry-leading services to support children and young people who have experienced violence and abuse.

Why we need your support

We need to develop new responses and continue to provide effective services to help those affected by the devastating impact of crime. Our specialist services aren’t protected by government funding or provided by anyone else.

For example, we know that children who are repeat victims of crime and abuse are more likely to be involved in crime in later life. With your help, we can support vulnerable children on their difficult journey though the justice system so that more of them can put crime, violence and abuse behind them, and reach their full potential in life.

If you’d like to help us support people affected by crime, we would love to hear from you. Email our fundraising team to find out more.
