Governance and structure

People Committee

The People Committee has a wide remit, responsible for the management and oversight of:

  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)
  • Board composition and Trustee nominations
  • Volunteering
  • HR
  • Health and Safety

Current members of the People Committee are: Sue Steen (Chair), Amanda Hamilton Stanley, Angela Gascoigne and Claire Collins.

Finance Commi​t​tee

The Finance Committee manages the financial responsibilities and duties of the Board of Trustees. The Committee monitors our day-to-day financial management and reporting.

Current members of the Finance Committee are: Caroline Green (Chair), Debbie Gillatt, Marion Richards and Yvonne Thomas.

Risk Committee

The Risk Committee looks after internal and external audits, as well as risk and quality assurance responsibilities. Among other things, the Committee is responsible for Victim Support’s corporate risk register and quality assurance processes.

Current members of the Risk Committee are: Claire Collins (Chair), Clarisse Mourey, Neil Rutledge and Yvonne Thomas.

Remuneration Committee

Victim Support’s Remuneration Committee makes sure that the employment and remuneration responsibilities and duties of the Board of Trustees are managed effectively in relation to senior staff.

The Chair of the Trustees chairs the Committee and the Chairs of the People and Finance Committees also sit on the Committee. Current members are: Yvonne Thomas (Chair), Caroline Green and Sue Steen.

Wales Committee

The Wales Committee exists to further the aims and objectives of Victim Support in Wales. It advises on and supports activities conducted in Wales and acts to facilitate partnerships in Wales.

Voice Committee

The Voice Committee looks at the strategic direction that Victim Support takes in bringing about positive change for victims and witnesses in the Criminal Justice System and wider society. It leads on campaigning and influencing prioritisation, the Victim Support brand and reach, and promotes the principles of EDI in every aspect of its work.

Current members of the Voice Committee are: Amanda Hamilton Stanley (Chair), Claire Collins, Sue Steen and Emma Norton (independent member).
