How we can help
We give emotional and practical help to people who have been affected by crime in Humberside or South Yorkshire. We’re an independent charity and you can contact us for support regardless of whether you’ve contacted the police, and no matter how long ago the crime took place. We’ll help you for as long as it takes to overcome the impact of crime.
We understand that it’s often a big step to reach out for support, but if you call your local Victim Support team, not only will it be confidential, we’ll make sure that you get the right information and support to help you move forward and overcome the effects of the crime.
This might involve arranging a meeting for you to talk to us and receive emotional support, looking at ways to make you feel safer and less isolated, helping you to fill out a compensation form or get advice on how to make your home more secure, or, with your permission, referring you to other specialist organisations that can also help. The support you receive will be tailored specifically to your needs.
