Who can access support

Birmingham Safer Futures is part of Birmingham’s Early Help offer and provides support for families affected by domestic abuse before problems escalate or reach crisis point.

The service is available to:

  • parents and carers aged 16 and over who are affected by domestic abuse
  • children and young people aged under 18 who are affected by domestic abuse
  • families living in Birmingham who would benefit from early support and specialist domestic abuse advice and guidance.

You do not need to have reported domestic abuse to the police to access support.

Referrals to the service can be made by Birmingham Family Hubs and Voluntary Sector Early Help Teams. Families can also access support directly by visiting our team within Family Hubs for immediate advice and support.

If you’re concerned that someone you know may be experiencing domestic abuse, you do not have to manage it alone.

Birmingham Safer Futures can provide advice, guidance and information to help you understand the support available for parents, children and young people affected by domestic abuse. We can also help you think about the safest way to encourage someone to seek support.

Whether you’re a family member, friend, neighbour, teacher or another trusted person, reaching out could make a difference.

Contact our team to discuss your concerns or find out more about the support available.
