Support in court
In 2015, the Crown Prosecution Service’s Victim and Witness Satisfaction Survey found that 34% of victims interviewed were not given the opportunity to make a Victim Personal Statement (VPS). Of those who did make a VPS, 56% did not know if their statement had been used in the case.
Victim Support (VS) provides services to ensure that victims are given the support they need before, during and after court, including taking Victim Personal Statements, managing witness care units and providing specialist witness support.
