VS responds to BBC Radio Northampton on impact of burglary

14 June 2016

Victim Support responds to BBC Radio Northampton on the impact of burglary on victims.

Scott Cook, manager for independent charity Victim Support in Northamptonshire, said:

“Victims tell us time and time again that they suffer far more than lost possessions when their home is burgled; there can be a lasting effect on the whole family. Knowing a burglar is still at large can cause stress and anxiety for victims who may feel that their home is no longer a safe haven.

“What’s vitally important is that all victims have access to the practical help and emotional support they may need to help them cope and recover from crime. Victim Support’s specially trained staff and volunteers offer free, confidential information and support to anyone affected by crime – regardless of when the crime took place or if the police are involved. Call our local team on 0300 303 1965 or visit victimsupport.org.uk to find out how we can help.”
