VS responds to Weston Mercury on local outstanding arrest warrants

14 June 2016

Victim Support responds to the Weston Mercury on local outstanding arrest warrant figures.

A spokesperson for independent charity Victim Support said:

“Outstanding arrest warrants can cause considerable anger, frustration and concern for victims.”

“Knowing that someone has been convicted and has disappeared before sentencing may cause a person to feel like justice has not been achieved, which could discourage them from reporting incidents in the future.”

“Victim Support is an independent charity here to help anyone affected by crime and our support is free and confidential. People can visit our website: victimsupport.org.uk or call Victim Support Avon and Somerset on 0300 303 1972.”
