18 July 2017

One month on from the Finsbury Park mosque attack, independent charity Victim Support wants people to know that help is still available to anyone affected.

Today marks one month since eleven people were injured and one died when a van drove into worshipers as they left the mosque in north London.

Of those who have been in contact with the independent charity in relation to the van attack, three quarters are receiving on-going long term support and the rest have received immediate support and intervention.

Requests for support include practical help such as compensation claims and financial support through to emotional support for those suffering the effects of trauma which include difficulty sleeping and loss of appetite.

As of this Friday, 21st July, Victim Support will have specialist workers holding outreach service in Finsbury Pak Mosque every Friday afternoon from 2:30pm.

Bernadette Keane, Victim Support’s London Director, said: ‘We know from our experience that people can be affected by trauma weeks and even months afterwards after a traumatic event.
