VS named top charity for third year in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index
6 February 2018
VS has been ranked number 10, our highest placing yet, in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index - meaning we're the top rated charity for the third year in a row.
We have achieved 'Top Trans Employer' status - only 11 organisations have been awarded this recognition.
Due to being in the top 20 for the last three years, VS has also been given 'Star Performer' status too!
VS's Natasha Broomfield-Reid and Jessica Rees attended the awards ceremony on 31 January to collect our awards and acknowledge the work staff and volunteers across the organisation have done to ensure LGBT+ staff, volunteers and service users can be their authentic self and access support which meets their needs.
'It was a great night and wonderful to be surrounded by people who truly value diversity and inclusion.
'It was so inspiring to hear from those who received awards and the work they had done to embed LGBT+ equality. It was also brilliant to see Victim Support's name as a top 10 organisation!'
Contract Account Manager and Senior LGBT+ Champion, David Naylor, said:
'Victim Support has continued to work to enhance awareness and understanding and embed LGBT+ equality across the organisation.
'We are very proud to have been a top Stonewall employer since 2010 and are delighted to be placed in the top 10.
'We know there is more work to be done and we will continue to ensure that our LGBT+ service users, staff and volunteers are supported effectively and are free to be their authentic selves.'
