2 September 2016
Victim Support has been named as one of the most inclusive employers in the UK, ranked at number 22 in the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers list.
The list, powered by The Excellence in Diversity Awards, recognises organisations that have shown a dedication to workplace diversity and promote inclusion across all protected characteristics. As well as Victim Support, the list includes organisations such as PwC, British Airways, St Mungo’s and Touchstone, judged on their recruitment procedures, training and diversity initiatives.
Lucy Hastings, Director and LGBT senior champion at Victim Support, said: “We’re very proud to have been named as one of the UK’s Top 50 Inclusive Employers. Inclusion is at the heart of what we do at Victim Support and we’re thrilled that our efforts to recruit and retain an inclusive workforce have been recognised.
“We believe that having an inclusive workforce enables us to better meet the needs of victims and witnesses in our local communities and ensure that everyone, regardless of their identity or background, can get the support they need to move beyond the impact of crime.”
At Victim Support, equality, diversity and inclusions networks provide a platform for staff and volunteers to promote equality throughout the organisation, organise awareness events and consult on policies and procedures.
Paul Sesay, CEO of The Inclusive Top 50, said ‘’It is crucial to highlight best practices in workforce diversity. There is a need to promote these practices and the organisations carrying out pioneering work in this arena to set an example to other employers across the UK.”
