Victim Care Officers - Cardiff

Victim Support are looking to recruit victim care officers to join our team based in Cardiff. We provide a service covering seven days per week, offering flexible shift patterns for candidates seeking both full and part time employment. The current opening times are 8am to 9pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Saturday and 10am to 2pm Sundays.

In this position you will make outgoing telephone and receive incoming calls from victims and undertake a comprehensive needs assessment and commission a range of services to support the identified needs if appropriate. Following the comprehensive needs assessment you will then ensure all of the victims needs are met, which will include the liaison with other agencies, along with Victim Support's internal service delivery teams. You will also be required to make follow up telephone contact with victims to check that the service has been appropriately and satisfactorily delivered.

You must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and have excellent telephone skills. Your attention to detail and accurate input into case management systems must be of the highest standard. You must maintain a strong customer focus and be able to demonstrate empathy and a complete understanding of how crime can affect people, working and living in the community.

This role would be ideally suited to someone who is passionate about helping people and has had experience of working in telephone based service delivery environment.

Welsh language skills are desirable.

On successful completion of probation your salary will increase to £18,823 per annum.

The successful candidate will require police vetting to level 3.
