Victim Care Officer - Blackwood

Victim Support is looking to recruit a Victim Care Officer to be based in Connect Gwent Blackwood, Gwent. This is a regular post working full time, 37.5 hours per week, in line with the published rota. The Victim Care Unit is open Monday to Friday, 8am-8pm and Saturday, 9am-5pm.

In this position you will contact victims by telephone to undertake a comprehensive needs assessment and commission a range of services to support the identified needs if appropriate. Following the comprehensive needs assessment you will then ensure all of the victim's needs are met, which may include the liaison with other agencies, along with Victim Support's internal service delivery teams. You will also be required to make follow up telephone contact with victims to check that the service has been appropriately and satisfactorily delivered.

You must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and have excellent telephone skills. Your attention to detail and accurate input into a case management system must be of the highest standard. You must maintain a strong customer focus and be able to demonstrate empathy and a complete understanding of how crime can affect people working and living in the community.

This role would be ideally suited to someone who is passionate about helping people and has had experience of working in telephone based service delivery environment. 

Welsh language skills are desirable.

On successful completion of probation your salary will increase to £18,823 per annum.

The successful candidate will require police vetting to level 3.
