This is a temporary contract due to end on or before 30 June 2017.
We're looking to recruit a full-time Hospital Independent Domestic Violence Advocate. This role will be based at St Helier's Hospital in Sutton.
Appointments will be subject to satisfactory checks made by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). Please note that this post is open to women only under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.
As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate, you will provide a high quality and pro-active service to victims of domestic violence and abuse. You will deliver a service to those at highest risk, and will work in a multi-agency setting to ensure that all agencies work together to maintain the safety of victims. You will also work with survivors and agencies to monitor the care pathways.
A SafeLives qualification, formerly known as CAADA, is desirable but not essential. You must have experience of working with and supporting high risk survivors of domestic violence and/or rape and sexual assault in either a community work or advice work setting. You will also have knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by people who have experienced domestic violence and/or rape and sexual assault.
It is also essential that you have proven experience of multi-agency working, and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ability to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands in an organised and methodical manner is also essential.
