Domestic Abuse Caseworker - Brent and Harrow

This is a temporary contract due to end on or before 30 June 2017.

The main purpose of the role is to deliver frontline services to victims of domestic abuse within assigned boroughs in London. You will be responsible for managing a caseload of victims of domestic abuse, directly through initial contact, risk assessment, one-to-one support, and indirectly through onward referrals to domestic abuse services, other agencies and volunteers. You will attend relevant meetings when required on behalf of Victim Support, as well as support volunteers by providing advice and information on domestic abuse issues and cases. You will also be responsible for keeping and maintaining accurate and confidential records, and for providing information to management as and when required.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in maintaining appropriate and professional boundaries at all times. You must have a knowledge of and experience in using CAADA/DASH risk and needs assessment frameworks. A working knowledge of safeguarding issues and legal responsibilities is required, as well as a proven track record in planning, prioritising and organising workload. It is also essential that you have a proven track record in working collaboratively with statutory and voluntary partners. You will need to demonstrate your ability to keep accurate records and statistics in a form which is accessible and useful to funders and the local senior management team. Bilingual or multilingual skills are highly desirable.

Appointments will be subject to satisfactory checks made by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), and depending on where the post is based, some posts may require satisfactory police vetting or vetting by a medical establishment.
