Hear from our volunteers

Many of our volunteers say they get a lot out of helping victims and witnesses
We have around 6,500 people working for us as volunteers. Here's what a few of them have to say about working for our charity.
“I get a sense of achievement when I have been able to make a significant difference to somebody’s life and prove there is a caring side to today’s society."
“Some of the young people I work with have often been through very traumatic experiences. To be able to help them to give their evidence in a criminal trial, overcoming their fears and worries, is a reward in itself.”
“I think the organisation is wonderful. I volunteer on the front line giving emotional support to victims of crime. It’s rewarding – I can see the difference it makes.”
“Being a volunteer at Victim Support has given me so much – I have met lots of new people, learned new skills and gained confidence. It’s a big part of my life.”
“As a final year law student, volunteering in a court has given me an amazing insight into the legal process. I am now hoping to become a barrister."
