Gold Challenge

The Gold Challenge is a unique new charity challenge where you challenge yourself to take on 5, 10, 20 or 30 different Olympic or Paralympic Sports – whilst having a great experience and raising money for Victim Support.

Gold Challenge have teamed up with the British Olympic Association and Team GB, Sport England, the British Paralympics Association - and a host of other sporting bodies - to provide you with all the support, information (and special offers!) you need to do the Gold Challenge.

How do I get involved?

To begin your Gold Challenge and your fundraising for Victim Support register on the Gold Challenge website.

When registering you will need to choose:

  • how many sports you want to take on (5, 10, 20 or 30)
  • whether you’re taking part as an individual or as part of a team
  • Victim Support as your chosen charity to raise money for

You have to be 16 years old or over. There is no upper age limit – as long as you want to compete in the Gold Challenge, you can!

You can enter individually or as part of a team, choosing to participate in either 5, 10, 20 or 30 Olympic and Paralympic Sports.

All you need to do is register on the Gold Challenge website now.

Will I get help and support?

Absolutely, we will support your fundraising efforts but everything you need can be found on the Gold Challenge website.

Once you've registered, you will join an event and track your progress in the My Challenge section of the Gold Challenge website. There are league tables to motivate you in your chosen sport and once you've completed a sport, they'll send you a medal and certificate.

What level of fitness do I need to complete the Gold Challenge?

All you need to complete the Gold Challenge is:

  • A wish to raise money for a great cause.
  • An enthusiasm for trying something new

The Gold Challenge is for everyone with any level of ability and fitness and you can enter most sports regardless of your level of fitness. Unless you're doing the 30 sport challenge - you choose which sports you complete, so you can tailor your challenge to fit your abilities.

How long will it take me to complete the Gold Challenge?

The Gold Challenge officially ends on 31st December 2012, so you have from whenever you start your challenge until that date to complete it. However, it will all depend on to how many sports you take on, how much time you have to put into it, and what personal deadlines you set yourself. That's what makes the Gold Challenge such a different and amazing Charity Challenge - you set your own targets according to your capabilities.

I have a disability. Can I complete the Gold Challenge?

The Gold Challenge is partnered with Paralympics GB so disability sports are an integral part of the vision. There is an entire Disability Sports that will provide you with all the information you'll need on how to choose the best disability sports suited to you. Within the 'Where' section of each sport - they have included information on where to find clubs with disabled access.
