Sentencing 

The policy team has recently published a report on sentencing, ‘Victims’ justice? What victims and witnesses really want from sentencing’.

Shortly after we published our report, the Ministry of Justice published a green paper on sentencing. You can view the green paper on the Ministry of Justice website.

The Ministry of Justice is currently consulting on this paper, and Victim Support is putting together a comprehensive response using the voices of victims and witnesses. We want to represent the views of everyone who has been a victim of or witness of crime and make sure that the legislation that will follow this Green Paper puts us in the right direction – to improve the experience of victims and witnesses.
